Job Purpose
The Country Coordinator Consultant will play a pivotal role in achieving project objectives by fostering innovative cross-border partnerships and strengthening national child protection systems for migrant children. This role is crucial for promoting child-sensitive migration management and ensuring the best interests of children throughout their journey. Key contributions include building government capacity for inclusive policies, enhancing child protection and case management systems, facilitating access to legal identity, and strengthening regional data systems for a coordinated protection response. The consultant will also support specialized interventions addressing human rights violations and improving institutional knowledge through training and evidence generation, thereby enhancing programming effectiveness.
Responsibilities
The Country Coordinator will serve as the 'Secretariat' for the Country Team, maintaining contact information, convening meetings, drafting agendas and notes, and managing shared documentation. Responsibilities include undertaking desk reviews, co-authoring reports on promising practices, gaps, and needs along the route, and assisting in the report's finalization and dissemination. The role involves co-organizing regional and national convenings for government delegates and stakeholders to develop frameworks for inclusive child-sensitive SOPs, cross-border case management, interoperable information systems, and harmonized alternative care arrangements. This includes identifying stakeholders, preparing participants, managing logistics, and facilitating sessions. Additionally, the coordinator will manage quantitative and qualitative reporting for the Country Team, collating inputs for final reports and ensuring strong collaboration with regional and global offices.
Work Experience
Requires substantial experience in government liaison, partnership management, and multi-agency coordination. Demonstrated track record in engaging with government counterparts, facilitating high-level meetings, and navigating complex environments is essential. Expertise in child protection, child-sensitive approaches, cross-border case management, and migrant children's needs is highly desirable, as are strong analytical, reporting, and leadership skills in multi-partner settings.
