Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Crete, Greece, is implementing the 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' project. This initiative, funded by 'Crete 2021–2027', aims to promote the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society through various support activities.
Job Purpose
This role supports the 'Helios+' project by facilitating the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society. The Integration Facilitator will contribute to employability support, language courses, vocational training, independent living assistance, and social cohesion activities. Working under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator and Project Team Lead, the position is crucial for connecting beneficiaries with essential services and resources, ensuring their successful adaptation and inclusion within the Greek community. The role involves direct engagement with beneficiaries to assess needs, provide information, and coordinate support pathways.
Responsibilities
The Integration Facilitator will inform and enroll eligible beneficiaries into the project, monitoring their integration progress through individual sessions. Key duties include conducting presentations on the European Way of Life, organizing psychosocial support, and providing information on social welfare, housing, healthcare, and education. The role involves referring beneficiaries to specialized support services and coordinating with other project units and relevant authorities to meet beneficiary needs. Responsibilities also include evaluating exemption requests for Greek language courses, ensuring accurate data entry and archiving, and visiting reception facilities to present the project and enroll beneficiaries. Assisting beneficiaries with apartment searches and administrative requirements is also a core function.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of previous work experience is required. For Social Workers and Psychologists, a professional license is mandatory. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.
Skills
Computer literacy in standard software applications. Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles. A valid driver’s license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage.
