Organizational Context
IOM, in collaboration with national and local authorities and partners, implements the 'Helios+' project in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. This project aims to integrate third-country nationals into the Greek labor market and society through various support activities. The role operates under the Regional Coordinator and Project Team Lead.
Job Purpose
The Integration Facilitator plays a crucial role in supporting the integration of beneficiaries of international and temporary protection into Greek society. This involves facilitating their access to employability support, language courses, vocational training, and independent living resources such as rental subsidies. The position also contributes to activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion, ensuring beneficiaries receive comprehensive support to adapt and thrive within their new environment. The role is key to the successful implementation of the 'Helios+' project's objectives.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include informing and enrolling eligible beneficiaries into the project, monitoring their integration progress through individual sessions, and conducting presentations on the European Way of Life. The role involves organizing psychosocial support sessions and providing essential information on social welfare, housing, healthcare, and education services. Additionally, the Integration Facilitator will conduct referrals for specialized support, coordinate with other project units and stakeholders, and visit reception facilities to present the project. Assisting beneficiaries with apartment searches and administrative requirements, evaluating exemption requests for language courses, and ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping are also core duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of previous work experience is required. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred. Possession of a professional license, where applicable, and an adequate combination of knowledge, education, training, and skills are necessary to perform the role's essential functions.
Skills
Proficiency in computer literacy with standard software applications. Strong work ethics and a commitment to humanitarian principles are essential. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage.
