Job Purpose
This role supports IOM Brazil's strategic expansion in socioeconomic integration and entrepreneurship promotion. The selected professional will be instrumental in developing capacity-building methodologies, delivering training and mentoring, and articulating partnerships with various stakeholders. A key function is connecting migrants, refugees, and local entrepreneurs to essential resources such as credit networks, business formalization programs, and innovation opportunities. The position aims to foster inclusive economic development and enhance the resilience of vulnerable populations by leveraging business ecosystems and innovation, aligning with IOM’s institutional goals and priorities for sustainable migration.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include establishing partnerships with public institutions, the private sector, and civil society to foster connections within business and innovation ecosystems. The role involves conducting needs assessments for migrant entrepreneurs and developing tailored action plans and capacity-building methodologies. Identifying and supporting access to public policies, credit programs, and business formalization mechanisms is crucial. The professional will design and deliver trainings, workshops, and mentoring sessions on various aspects of entrepreneurship and business management. Additionally, responsibilities include developing educational materials, providing follow-up support to entrepreneurs, organizing networking events, preparing reports, and assisting in project design and evaluation. Managing IOM’s software for recording partnerships and contacts is also required.
Work Experience
Requires proven experience in securing partnerships and resources for entrepreneurship and inclusive economic development. Demonstrated experience in entrepreneurship promotion projects, conducting trainings, and working with diverse populations, including migrants and refugees, is essential. In-depth knowledge of entrepreneurship support mechanisms and strong institutional coordination skills are necessary. Proficiency in developing accessible educational content and applying participatory methodologies is also required.
Skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong organizational abilities for task prioritization and management. Proficiency in producing communication materials and presentations. Ability to draft and edit reports and correspondence. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management software.
