Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brazil is seeking candidates for the Senior Public & Private Partnership Assistant role. This position supports the Public and Private Sector Partnerships unit, contributing to the organization's efforts in migration and related humanitarian assistance. The role is based in Brasilia.
Job Purpose
The Senior Public & Private Partnership Assistant will provide crucial administrative and operational support to the Public and Private Sector Partnerships unit at IOM Brazil. This role is instrumental in fostering and managing relationships with public and private sector entities to advance the organization's objectives. The assistant will contribute to the development and implementation of projects focused on social and economic integration, shelter, protection, livelihood, and infrastructure interventions. By facilitating communication, maintaining essential data, and supporting project activities, the position directly impacts the effectiveness of IOM's programming and its ability to achieve durable solutions for vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Public and Private Sector Partnerships unit. This involves maintaining partner databases and contact information, and assisting in the preparation of communication materials, reports, and presentations. The role requires facilitating workshops and training sessions, particularly on durable solutions. A significant aspect involves engaging in meetings and dialogues with private sector entities and government counterparts to support the implementation of multi-sectoral programming. Furthermore, the assistant will aid in the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of project development and implementation, including administrative tasks such as tracking follow-up actions, managing travel, logistics, data collection, and procurement. Other related tasks as required will also be undertaken.
Work Experience
Required experience includes working with social and economic integration projects in partnership with government, civil society, UN, or private sector actors. Experience in dialogues and maintaining continuous contact with the private sector is essential. The role also requires experience in implementing and monitoring such projects, establishing strong working relations with diverse stakeholders, and performing administrative tasks, including project reporting. Field experience related to migration, refugees, and stateless populations is also beneficial.
Skills
Essential skills include strong written and verbal communication and negotiation abilities. Familiarity with budget/financial administration and proven resource management skills are necessary. The candidate should have experience handling confidential data, excellent academic writing skills, knowledge of relevant government, civil society, UN, and private sector actors, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
