Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to significantly contribute to the International Organization for Migration's (IOM) resource mobilization and partnership development efforts in Brazil. The Private Sector and Marketing Senior Assistant will be instrumental in identifying, engaging, and maintaining strategic corporate partnerships to support migration and durable solutions projects. This involves developing and implementing effective marketing and communication strategies for fundraising, preparing compelling proposals, and ensuring robust relationship management with private sector entities. The role also supports field teams in coordinating partnership activities, maintains critical partnership data, and collaborates on institutional visibility campaigns. By fostering transparent and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, the incumbent ensures that IOM's private sector engagement is aligned with its institutional priorities, thereby enhancing the organization's capacity to deliver on its mandate.
Responsibilities
The Private Sector and Marketing Senior Assistant will primarily support the identification, engagement, and maintenance of strategic corporate partners for migration and durable solutions projects. This includes assisting in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies specifically designed for fundraising and partnership growth. The role involves actively contributing to the preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and promotional materials tailored for potential private sector partners, while also diligently monitoring existing corporate relationships to identify and capitalize on opportunities for expansion. Furthermore, the incumbent will provide crucial support to field teams in coordinating partnership activities, ensuring strict alignment with IOM's institutional priorities and operational plans. Key duties also encompass maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date database of partnerships, contacts, and relevant information to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning. The Assistant will collaborate extensively in the implementation of marketing campaigns and institutional visibility initiatives, and foster strong, transparent, and effective collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all engagements align with IOM's objectives. Finally, the role supports the analysis of private sector trends and innovation opportunities applicable to IOM’s activities.
Work Experience
At least two years of experience in private sector engagement, corporate partnerships, or institutional marketing is required. This includes demonstrated experience in coordinating operational activities, preparing proposals, promotional materials, and marketing strategies for fundraising. The role requires proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, work collaboratively within diverse teams, and engage cross-functionally to build innovative public and private sector partnerships.
Skills
Key skills include strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in developing marketing strategies and corporate partnerships, alongside the ability to write, draft, and edit various reports, proposals, and donor communications. Familiarity with project management principles and tools is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital marketing tools is essential, coupled with an in-depth understanding of public/private sector partnerships, fundraising, philanthropy, UN agencies, migration, and business and human rights.
