Organizational Context
This role is with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brazil, based in Brasilia. The Public & Private Partnerships Coordinator will contribute to expanding IOM Brazil's operational capacity and financial sustainability by developing strategic fundraising initiatives and fostering collaborations with public and private sector actors.
Job Purpose
The Public & Private Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for identifying and engaging potential partners from government, international organizations, and the private sector to explore collaboration opportunities in migration and durable solutions programs. This role is crucial for securing financial sustainability and expanding IOM Brazil's operational capacity. The coordinator will assist in the design, negotiation, and establishment of partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with IOM policies. They will monitor and report on partnership progress, support field teams, and contribute to communication materials and proposals. The purpose is to foster effective and transparent engagement with partners, aligning with institutional objectives and enhancing private sector engagement.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives targeting public and private sector actors to ensure financial sustainability and expand IOM Brazil's operational capacity. Identify and engage potential partners from government, international organizations, and the private sector to explore collaboration opportunities in migration and durable solutions programs. Assist in the design, negotiation, and establishment of partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and procedures. Monitor and report on the progress and impact of ongoing partnerships, providing timely updates and recommendations to senior management. Support field teams in coordinating partnership activities, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and operational plans. Contribute to the development of communication materials, presentations, and proposals for potential donors and partners. Maintain a database of partnerships, contacts, and relevant information to support informed decision-making and strategic planning. Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective engagement aligned with institutional objectives.
Work Experience
Requires at least three years of experience in public and private partnership engagement. Demonstrated experience in coordinating operational activities within a team or department is essential. Experience with fundraising and building partnerships with the private sector is necessary. Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, work collaboratively in a diverse team, and work cross-functionally to build innovative partnerships is also required.
Skills
Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in partnership development and management. Fundraising and proposal development capabilities. Ability to write, draft, and edit reports and correspondence. Understanding of public and private sector partnerships, migration issues, and UN agencies. Project management familiarity is advantageous.
