National Project Officer (Consultant), AICRM Gambia *Call for interest* - Short term opportunity for 12 months for consultant

Organizational Context

This is a temporary consultancy assignment for 12 months within the West & Central Africa Division, supporting the AICRM programme in Gambia. The consultant will work under the guidance of the IFAD Country Director and in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture.

Job Purpose

To provide technical, coordination, and advisory support for the AICRM programme, facilitating collaboration among executive entities, enhancing programme visibility, tracking implementation, and ensuring coherence at the national level.

Responsibilities

Provide technical, coordination, and advisory support to executive entities involved in the AICRM programme; enhance programme visibility; develop and track the joint PTBA; facilitate coordination and stakeholder engagement; review legal and regulatory aspects, financial management, and M&E procedures; support steering committee functioning; manage PTBA development and reporting; provide financial reporting and audit support; contribute to M&E system development and integration of gender considerations; support review missions; and maintain a recommendation tracking table.

Work Experience

At least eight years of experience in implementing rural development projects/programmes, including five years on projects funded by international donors or bilateral cooperation agencies. At least five years of field experience in direct contact with beneficiaries, professional organizations, and the private sector. Experience in planning and monitoring/evaluating rural development projects. Experience in partnership management and team coordination/management.

Organizational and planning skills; coordination, supervision, and control abilities; strong communication and teamwork skills; knowledge of climate change adaptation or climate finance issues (asset); commitment to good governance and ethics; proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, videoconferencing).
