Organizational Context
The incumbent reports directly to the Chief, Staff Employment and Administration Section (SEA), which is responsible for operational aspects of Human Resources management and services, such as contract management, entitlement administration, social security and pension administration, separation handling and servicing retirees.
Job Purpose
To perform human resources functions related to group insurance plans, the UN Pension Fund, and provide administrative support to the Section. This includes assisting staff with benefits, managing pension enrollments and entitlements, and supporting administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Performs human resources functions related to group medical, life, and non-occupational risk insurance, including assisting staff with enrollment, claims, and debriefing on after-service coverage. Manages functions related to the UN Pension Fund, including briefing staff, processing enrollments, calculating estimates, and ensuring timely submission of documentation. Provides administrative support for pension and insurance matters, drafts correspondence, and supports the engagement of seconded staff.
Work Experience
Essential: A minimum of 5 years’ administrative experience in human resources or a related field. Knowledge in handling protocol matters and dealing with social security benefits and entitlements. Experience in the application of staff rules and regulations. Understanding of Pension and Medical Benefits Plans. Desirable: Work experience within an international organization or a government. Experience within the UN system.
