Consultant - Office of Procurement Services
Organizational Context
The Department of Management (MT) provides essential services supporting the IAEA's scientific and technical programmes. Its mission is to be a partner and business enabler, driving change and efficiency. The Office of Procurement Services, within MT, manages an annual procurement volume exceeding 180 million Euros, supporting both Member States and the IAEA's internal operations with a wide range of goods and specialized services.
Job Purpose
The Office of Procurement Services (MTPS) is seeking a procurement consultant to lead and execute significant and outstanding procurement projects. The consultant will report to the Team Leader(s) and will be responsible for providing specialized subject matter expertise in all aspects of procurement. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for the IAEA's diverse programmes and operational needs, contributing directly to the department's role as a business enabler.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide expert procurement advice and support throughout the procurement lifecycle. Key duties include conducting specialized market research and analyzing supplier bases to identify potential partners. Responsibilities extend to producing comprehensive procurement documentation and reports, essential for the development and implementation of project procurement portfolios. The consultant will also develop and advise on procurement strategies and risk mitigation plans. Furthermore, they will offer guidance and support during the procurement evaluation process, conduct price analysis, benchmarking, and supplier due diligence. Developing and tracking key performance indicators for supplier performance, monitoring project timelines, and reporting on procurement progress are also integral aspects of the role.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of relevant experience in procurement, logistics, and/or project management is required, ideally within an international organization. Experience in international procurement, project coordination, or drafting action plans and related documents is advantageous.
