Organizational Context
The Director General's Office (DGO) provides executive leadership and coordination for all IAEA activities. It ensures that Member States' needs are met and promotes a unified, results-based management approach across the organization, aligning all efforts towards common goals.
Job Purpose
The Associate Ethics Officer supports the Chief of Ethics in managing the organization's ethics function. Key responsibilities include developing awareness materials, conducting research, and drafting proposals for enhancing the IAEA's ethics framework. The role involves providing case management support, maintaining confidential records, and acting as an initial point of contact for staff seeking ethical guidance. This position is crucial for upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity within the IAEA.
Responsibilities
The Associate Ethics Officer is responsible for comprehensive document management, including organizing and categorizing physical and electronic records. This includes managing case intake, maintaining logs, and creating case files within an electronic repository. The role involves generating reports and statistical data to support reviews and collaborating to improve the case management system. Additionally, the officer will assist with the annual Declaration of Interest process, support the finalization of annual reports, and ensure the timely delivery of ethics services. Researching UN policies, enhancing the Ethics intranet site, developing digital outreach materials, and supporting awareness-raising initiatives are also key duties. The officer will act as an initial contact point for staff and assist in compiling data for reporting purposes.
Work Experience
Relevant experience in providing administrative support, data management, and case file management is required. Experience with the UN or in a multinational context, conducting research and analysis in an international organization, and developing digital communications or training materials are desirable.
