Organizational Context
The Department of Nuclear Energy aims to promote the efficient and safe use of nuclear power. It supports Member States in enhancing nuclear power plant performance, fuel cycle management, and waste management, while also fostering innovation, developing national energy planning capabilities, and advancing scientific and industrial applications through research reactors.
Job Purpose
The Technical Lead (Stakeholder Engagement) ensures a results-oriented programmatic response to Member States' priorities concerning stakeholder engagement in nuclear power programmes. This involves designing and implementing effective communication strategies and action plans. The role contributes to strengthening Member States' capabilities in managing public perception and engagement related to nuclear energy, fostering transparency and informed dialogue.
Responsibilities
The role involves serving as a Scientific Secretary for planning, organizing, and coordinating capacity-building events such as workshops and training courses focused on stakeholder engagement for nuclear power programmes and related communication. Additionally, the Technical Lead acts as a Technical Officer for Technical Cooperation Projects, developing communication and outreach plans for national, regional, and interregional initiatives. The position requires preparing state-of-the-art reports on stakeholder engagement within the nuclear sector, including communication strategies and community outreach efforts.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience in stakeholder engagement or nuclear communication is required, with at least five years at the international level. Experience in developing communication plans and campaigns, and organizing/leading training events is also necessary.
Skills
Key skills include communication, achieving results, client orientation, commitment to continuous process improvement, and technical/scientific credibility. Expertise is needed in nuclear power infrastructure development, public information and communication, and stakeholder involvement for nuclear power plants, including public communication and engagement planning.
