Internship - Organization Culture and Transformation
Organizational Context
The Department of Safeguards is responsible for the IAEA's global nuclear inspectorate mandate, supporting efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. It ensures that declared nuclear material remains for peaceful purposes and that no undeclared nuclear activities occur. This role is situated within the SG-Section for Safeguards Programme Coordination.
Job Purpose
This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in organizational culture, change management, and project coordination within a major international organization. The intern will support the 'SGTeam' strategic initiative, focusing on enhancing organizational culture and effectiveness. The role provides hands-on exposure to transformation initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to a more collaborative and efficient work environment within the Department of Safeguards.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in coordinating and implementing organizational culture and transformation initiatives under the SG Team programme. This includes supporting project planning, tracking timelines, organizing meetings, and coordinating across different workstreams and stakeholders. The role involves contributing to change management activities, such as stakeholder analysis, communication planning, and supporting change readiness. Additionally, the intern will help prepare presentations, briefing notes, and reports, conduct research on relevant approaches, and coordinate with various teams to ensure the successful delivery of transformation-related activities.
Work Experience
Experience supporting project management, organizational transformation, cultural transformation, change management, or advisory initiatives in public or private organizations is beneficial. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary. Experience with social media and conference/event promotion is an asset.
Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Fluency in other official IAEA languages is an asset. Familiarity with project management and change management methodologies and tools is desirable. Ability to comprehend technical content is also required.
