Job Purpose
The intern will support the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) in its communication and outreach activities under the guidance of the Communication Advisor. This role involves assisting with the creation and dissemination of outreach materials, managing web-related tasks, and supporting conference and meeting preparations. The intern will also contribute to the Department's social media presence and overall outreach strategy, helping to raise awareness about nuclear safety and security issues. This position provides valuable practical experience in international communication within a specialized scientific and regulatory field.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide logistical support for major meetings and conferences. They will assist in communication outreach initiatives to enhance awareness of nuclear safety and security importance. Responsibilities include researching and gathering information for web articles and social media content. The intern will also contribute to graphic development, analysis, and drafting/publishing regular posts. Furthermore, they will develop stories, features, and other outreach materials for various platforms, including social media, the website, and print. Support will be provided in preparing outreach materials like brochures and presentations, and in enhancing information sharing and knowledge management systems.
Work Experience
While specific work experience is not explicitly detailed, the role requires proficiency in MS Office and database use, along with document management skills. Experience in designing and developing communication materials on technical topics and knowledge of social media platforms are considered assets.
Skills
