Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide practical work experience in communication and outreach within the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS). Under the guidance of the Communication Advisor, the intern will support the implementation of outreach materials, web activities, and the organization of conferences and meetings. A key aspect of the role involves assisting with the department's social media presence and broader outreach initiatives, contributing to the dissemination of information on nuclear safety and security.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide support in the logistical preparations for significant meetings and conferences. This includes assisting with communication outreach efforts to raise awareness about the importance of nuclear safety and security. Responsibilities also involve researching and gathering information for web articles and social media content, and contributing to the development of overviews, graphic materials, and analyses. The intern will draft and publish social media posts regularly, and produce outreach materials such as stories and features for various platforms. Additionally, support will be provided in preparing leaflets, brochures, newsletters, and presentations, as well as meeting notes, and participating in the enhancement of information sharing and knowledge management systems.
Work Experience
While specific work experience is not explicitly detailed as a primary requirement, the role benefits from experience with the design and development of communication materials on complex technical topics. Familiarity with social media platforms, content promotion, graphic design support, and monitoring is advantageous. Knowledge of Adobe suite programs is considered an asset.
