Organizational Context
The Division of Information Technology supports the IAEA with information and communication technology (ICT), managing central services and implementing an ICT strategy. It adheres to ITIL and Prince2 best practices. The Client Services Section specifically handles desktop computing support, IT training, and client-oriented services, designing and managing desktop environments to meet business needs and international standards.
Job Purpose
The Microsoft 365 Platform Specialist is responsible for leading the design, implementation, governance, and ongoing enhancement of Microsoft 365 services throughout the organization. This role ensures that Microsoft 365 workloads, encompassing Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint Online, are effectively configured, integrated, and optimized. The objective is to meet evolving business requirements, improve collaboration, and support secure digital transformation initiatives, thereby enhancing productivity and compliance across the IAEA.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include designing, configuring, and optimizing Microsoft 365 workloads to align with organizational goals, security best practices, and IT architecture standards. The specialist will define and implement governance policies, security controls, and lifecycle management for these services. This involves architecting and delivering advanced solutions using Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint Online, and Teams, including third-party integrations. Proactive monitoring of Microsoft's roadmap for new feature adoption, providing expert support to clients and IT teams, and developing technical documentation are also crucial. The role includes leading or contributing to cross-functional projects like migrations and digital transformation, and mentoring junior staff within the Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, specifically in administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services within an enterprise environment. Experience in configuring and managing Microsoft 365 workloads, including Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, is essential. Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and REST APIs is also important.
Skills
Expertise in Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, Power BI), AI and Copilot integration, data analysis within M365 tools, and secure identity management (MS Entra ID, Conditional Access). Skills include designing and implementing integrated solutions, defining governance policies and security controls, and familiarity with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Graph API). Client orientation, commitment to continuous process improvement, and technical/scientific credibility are also key competencies.
