Job Purpose
The Team Leader (SG-Support Programmes) is responsible for managing and leading a team that coordinates the Development and Implementation Support (D&IS) Programme for Nuclear Verification. This involves strategic planning, supervision, and effective implementation of activities. The role ensures that Member State Support Programme (MSSP) resources are optimized for the Department's benefit and aligned with resource mobilization priorities. A key function is to efficiently manage the interface between MSSPs and the Department of Safeguards, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment.
Responsibilities
This position involves managing and leading the Support Programme Coordination Team, ensuring transparent and effective resource management for Member States. Key duties include planning and organizing annual MSSP review meetings and biennial events. The role requires coordinating and guiding the Department on the D&IS programme's content and direction, and communicating MSSP capabilities. Responsibilities also include overseeing biennial programme plans and reporting on achievements, reviewing proposed MSSP tasks for rationale and resource availability, and managing the recruitment process for Cost-Free Experts and Junior Professional Officers funded by MSSPs. The Team Leader will monitor task progress, resolve issues, act as the internal focal point for MSSP-related matters, and manage the team's programmatic direction and development, ensuring a balanced skill set through training and recruitment.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience is required in technical programme and project management, including event planning. Proven experience in staff management, development, and mentoring is essential. Experience in resource mobilization at a national or international level and in communicating programme priorities is also necessary.
