Job Purpose
This role focuses on providing comprehensive programme administration and financial management support for the MERANTI project. It involves managing accounting processes, personnel administration, and ensuring adherence to FAO guidelines and manuals. The objective is to facilitate the smooth and efficient execution of project activities by maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and supporting administrative operations in line with project requirements and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
The National Project Assistant will manage financial activities, including budget planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project SOPs and government policies. This includes tracking expenditures, identifying variances, and supporting financial reporting. Administrative duties involve supporting the planning and implementation of project activities, managing documentation, and maintaining an electronic filing system. The role also provides logistics and procurement support, coordinating the provision of goods and services, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery. The assistant will also prepare administrative inputs for progress reports and perform other tasks to support effective project implementation.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in programmatic and/or operational support. Experience in financial management, administration, and logistics within a project context is essential. Familiarity with government and FAO/UN development projects, particularly those related to environmental issues, is highly desirable.
Skills
Essential skills include results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing. Proficiency in organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, and trainings is crucial.
