Job Purpose
The Field Technical Implementation Specialist will provide essential technical support for the effective execution of field activities across various projects. This role involves ensuring that project objectives are met at the village and farm levels through direct assistance and monitoring. The specialist will play a key part in the successful implementation of interventions, contributing to the overall goals of FAO's agricultural and food system development initiatives within Egypt. This position requires hands-on engagement with beneficiaries and local stakeholders to facilitate the adoption of best practices and technologies.
Responsibilities
Provide daily technical support for project activities at village and farm levels. Oversee the establishment and monitoring of pilot model barns, ensuring adherence to technical specifications. Offer technical assistance for the installation, commissioning, and follow-up of biogas units on livestock farms. Support farmer training programs covering livestock husbandry, animal health, biosecurity, AMR, climate-smart practices, and environmental management. Conduct regular field visits to assess intervention quality and recommend improvements. Assist beneficiaries in adopting recommended livestock management practices and technologies. Verify beneficiary eligibility and participate in selection/registration. Monitor project interventions, reporting technical issues. Guide local veterinary and extension staff for harmonized implementation. Collect technical field data for monitoring, reporting, and evaluation. Support surveys, assessments, and evaluations. Supervise service providers and contractors. Maintain accurate records of field activities and progress. Prepare technical field reports and recommendations. Document success stories, lessons learned, and challenges. Participate in field missions and project events.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in implementing project activities is required. This experience should be directly related to the tasks and responsibilities outlined for the Field Technical Implementation Specialist.
Skills
Results Focus, Teamwork, Communication, Building Effective Relationships, Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement. A university degree in Animal Production is desirable and considered an asset.
