Job Purpose
The Partnerships and Program Development Specialist will support the FAO Country Office in Uganda by focusing on critical areas of resource mobilization and program development. This includes conducting in-depth donor intelligence and mapping potential resource partners, managing and reporting on the project pipeline, facilitating effective donor engagement and meetings, and contributing to the design of new programmes. The role is essential for ensuring the country office can strategically secure the necessary funding and partnerships to implement its Country Programming Framework and achieve its development objectives.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships and Program Development Specialist will support FAO Uganda's Resource Mobilization workflow. Key responsibilities include developing briefing notes on resource partners, maintaining and reporting on the RM Opportunities Pipeline, and supporting coordination meetings. The specialist will coordinate donor engagements, assist in preparing presentations and briefing materials, draft correspondence, and track follow-up actions. Additionally, the role involves developing structured project briefs and assisting in the programme design and resource mobilization cycle, from eligibility assessment to proposal development, ensuring alignment with CPF results frameworks. Contribution to the review and update of the RM Strategy and Action Plan is also expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required in areas such as resource mobilization, partnership development, or project management within humanitarian and development contexts. Experience working at the national and/or international level, particularly within UN or other international development organizations, is also necessary.
Skills
Essential skills include excellent oral and written communication, with proficiency in drafting, formulation, and reporting. Accuracy and professionalism are needed in research, document production, and editing. The role requires strong interpersonal skills for inclusive and collaborative work with diverse partners. Solid computer literacy, including MS Office proficiency, and the ability to work independently with tight deadlines are also crucial.
