Job Purpose
The Head Teller (FAO Credit Union) is responsible for coordinating and executing all functions supporting the Credit Union's activities. This role ensures the quality, transparency, and consistency of data and processes within their purview, contributing to the unit's overall smooth operation. The Head Teller oversees daily front-office operations, focusing on new members and lending activities, ensuring strict adherence to rules and procedures. The primary goal is to process requests efficiently and accurately, maintaining high levels of customer service and upholding the trust between members and the credit union.
Responsibilities
The Head Teller will coordinate the processing of member savings and loan transaction requests, ensuring that Tellers adhere to all governing rules and policies. This includes overseeing and assisting members with account opening and closure procedures, as well as managing other front-office operations such as deposits, account templates, and certificates. The role involves coordinating and overseeing daily, monthly, and quarterly operational procedures. Additionally, the Head Teller will liaise with the Human Resources Division and members on account-related matters, ensure proper archiving of correspondence and daily transactions, and monitor and update member records concerning personnel actions. The incumbent will also perform other related duties as required to support the Credit Union's functions.
Work Experience
Four years of relevant experience in finance and budget-related support work is required. Experience in a wide range of financial services is desirable. Knowledge of FAO's financial rules and regulations, accounting policies, and practices is also desirable.
Skills
Key skills include strong customer service orientation, initiative, and the ability to plan and establish priorities, standards, and deadlines. The role requires thorough knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and experience in accounting and dual currency transactions. The ability to analyze situations accurately and carry out instructions with limited supervision is crucial. Knowledge of communication and documentation standards, corporate computerized financial systems, and administrative procedures is also important.
