Job Purpose
The National Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of funded initiatives within Grenada, ensuring their alignment with national priorities and adherence to the requirements of the Pandemic Fund. This role involves coordinating project activities, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and monitoring progress against established milestones and outputs. The incumbent will ensure that project outcomes contribute to broader national animal health security frameworks and promote transparency, accountability, and equitable benefit-sharing throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires proactive risk identification and mitigation, with timely escalation of issues when necessary.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the identification of priority project areas based on national needs and strategic plans for preparedness and response. Facilitate inclusive consultations among relevant sectors, civil society, and implementing partners. Maintain regular communication with Implementing Entities (IEs) and Executing Agencies, participating in strategic planning and coordination meetings. Monitor project progress against agreed milestones and outputs, ensuring coherence with national animal health security frameworks. Review and validate progress and financial reports from IEs. Provide regular updates to national authorities on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies. Ensure transparency, accountability, and equitable benefit-sharing in project execution. Convene stakeholder coordination platforms to guide implementation and facilitate access to necessary resources and actors. Promote the meaningful engagement of vulnerable and marginalized populations. Identify potential implementation risks and collaborate with partners to mitigate them, escalating unresolved issues to national authorities as needed.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required in areas such as project or programme management, agricultural development, private/public sector administrative activities, administrative processes, monitoring and evaluation, or finance. Experience with donor-funded projects or large-scale programs is highly desirable.
Skills
Key skills include results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing. Familiarity with international organizations, regional entities, and national governments is important. Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale or donor-funded projects is crucial. Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement abilities, excellent communication and reporting skills in English, and the capacity to work independently in a results-oriented environment are essential.
