Job Purpose
The Field Office Coordinator will manage the FAO field office in Kharkiv, supporting project activities within the assigned operational area. This role involves overseeing FAO's portfolio in the relevant region of Ukraine, ensuring effective project implementation, and coordinating daily office operations. The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to advance FAO's mission in supporting agricultural recovery and food security in conflict-affected areas, contributing to both national and international food security objectives.
Responsibilities
Oversee FAO's portfolio in the region and supervise field office personnel in coordination with the Programme Coordinator for Mine Action and Head of Programme/Emergency Response Manager. Support project proposal identification, formulation, and preparation. Coordinate daily field office operations, ensuring the safety, security, and maintenance of FAO assets. Monitor and review field activity implementation, suggesting corrective actions as needed. Liaise with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and civil society for effective coordination. Prepare analytical reports on project performance and draft narrative reports. Coordinate with the Communication Coordinator for activity visibility and with the Security Coordinator for adherence to security protocols. Act as the day-to-day supervisor for field office personnel. Support field missions by FAO management, donors, and partners, involving frequent travel within Ukraine. Perform other duties as required.
Work Experience
Five years of relevant experience in humanitarian emergency response, agricultural and rural development, project management, and field office operations. Experience working with international organizations or in a similar capacity is beneficial.
