FAO Mongolia aims to be a leading partner in ensuring food and nutrition security. The office manages diverse projects in agriculture, natural resources, and rural development. Currently, FAO is a partner in the EU and BMZ co-financed STREAM+ project, focusing on sustainable ecosystem and agriculture management for rural development. FAO leads the Agriculture and Land components of this project and seeks a Knowledge Management Specialist to support this work.
Job Purpose
The Knowledge Management Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of the STREAM+ project's Agriculture and Land components. This involves developing and implementing strategies for knowledge management, documentation, and outreach. The specialist will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and disseminating project results, lessons learned, and best practices. Additionally, they will support the creation of various communication and visibility products, manage project content across platforms, and facilitate knowledge sharing events to enhance project impact and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a knowledge management and outreach plan for the STREAM+ project. Collect, organize, document, and disseminate project results, lessons learned, good practices, innovations, and success stories. Establish and maintain systems for systematic documentation and information management. Maintain a repository of project documents, publications, and multimedia assets. Support the preparation of project reports, presentations, and donor reports. Prepare communication and visibility products, including news articles, success stories, policy briefs, and fact sheets, adhering to FAO and donor requirements. Develop and manage content for project communication platforms, including websites and social media. Capture high-quality photographs and video footage, and produce multimedia content for communication and awareness raising. Design and format communication materials, ensuring compliance with branding guidelines. Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other outreach events to promote project results and exchange knowledge. Build the capacity of project staff and partners in knowledge documentation and communication practices. Liaise with government institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen outreach and knowledge-sharing efforts.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communications is required, with a specific focus on social media management and related areas. Experience within the UN system is considered an asset. The candidate should possess excellent planning and organizing skills, with a keen attention to detail.
