This role is within the Talent Acquisition Branch at FAO headquarters in Rome, establishing a roster for HR recruitment consultants and PSAs for short-term talent acquisition support.
Job Purpose
This role focuses on Human Resources, specifically within Talent Acquisition. The purpose is to support and facilitate the end-to-end recruitment processes for FAO. This involves providing expert guidance to hiring managers, ensuring compliance with policies, coordinating selection activities, and contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators related to recruitment efficiency and timelines. The objective is to attract and secure qualified candidates to meet the organization's staffing needs, thereby supporting FAO's mandate and strategic objectives through effective talent management.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include advising hiring managers on recruitment best practices, processes, and timelines. Conduct pre-screening of applications to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements. Assist in planning staffing needs and guide managers through the selection process. Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including vacancy postings, assessments, and interviews, ensuring timely delivery. Draft and review selection reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation. Monitor recruitment timelines and contribute to achieving corporate KPIs such as time-to-fill targets. Liaise with stakeholders to facilitate smooth recruitment operations. Prepare communications, statistics, and reports on recruitment activities. Participate in interview panels as required. For PSAs, support and facilitate talent acquisition activities, administer assessments, and assist in preparing recruitment documentation.
Work Experience
For Consultants: Minimum of one year (Level C), five years (Level B), or ten years (Level A) of relevant experience in HR management and administration within an international organization, specifically in talent acquisition. For PSAs: Minimum of one year (Level C), five years (Level B), or ten years (Level A) of relevant experience in HR management and administration within an international organization, specifically in talent acquisition. Working knowledge of English is required.
Skills
Core competencies include Results Focus, Teamwork, Communication, Building Effective Relationships, and Knowledge Sharing. Technical skills involve extensive experience in HR talent acquisition and management, developing recruitment policies, and knowledge of HR management systems (ERP familiarity is a plus). Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of another FAO official language is a strong asset. Ability to analyze complex issues and suggest solutions is required. Familiarity with FAO's structure and mandate is an asset. An HR professional certification is also considered an asset.
