The Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (REU) leads FAO’s efforts in food security, agriculture, and rural development by planning and implementing priority programs. REU fosters a multidisciplinary approach, supports policy dialogue, strengthens partnerships, and oversees FAO programs in the region. This role supports the project “Enhancing Competitiveness and Sustainability Across Kosovo’s Dairy Value Chain,” funded by GAFSP and implemented by FAO in Kosovo with the Kosovo Association of Milk Producers (KAMP). The project focuses on strengthening dairy production, improving sector development, and enhancing producer organization capacity.
Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator will ensure effective project implementation through close collaboration with FAO Kosovo, REU technical units, the Kosovo Association of Milk Producers (KAMP), and national institutions. This role requires active engagement with project partners and beneficiaries to guarantee coherent activity execution, timely output delivery, and efficient information exchange between FAO technical teams and local stakeholders. The coordinator will play a key part in facilitating communication and ensuring that project objectives are met through coordinated efforts and shared understanding among all involved parties.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the timely implementation of the project in collaboration with the Kosovo Association of Milk Producers (KAMP) and local stakeholders. Monitor and update project activity progress against the results framework, workplan, and deliverables, in consultation with the KAMP project manager. Organize and follow up on regular project coordination meetings involving FAO personnel, KAMP, partners, and stakeholders. Support and coordinate the selection and engagement of project beneficiaries transparently and in compliance with FAO procedures. Draft terms of reference for local consultants and service providers, including tasks and responsibilities, for review by FAO officers. Establish reporting deadlines and review technical deliverables from consultants, submitting them for clearance. Coordinate with the KAMP project manager on activity implementation in target areas, engaging with beneficiaries and stakeholders to identify needs and challenges. Monitor training activities and report on project progress and outcomes to donors.
Work Experience
At least five years of relevant working experience in agriculture-related projects, value chain development, rural development, or project management.
