National Project Engineer Analyst
Organizational Context
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representation in Yemen, based in Aden, is tasked with developing, promoting, overseeing, and implementing strategies for national food, agriculture, and rural development priorities. The office cultivates relationships with relevant government ministries. Job Purpose
The National Project Engineer Analyst is responsible for the on-site planning, technical supervision, quality control, and daily coordination of all civil, structural, and construction activities for FAO projects in assigned areas. This role ensures that all construction, rehabilitation, and site development work adheres strictly to approved designs, international engineering standards, FAO technical guidelines, and donor requirements. Acting as the primary technical support at the project site, the incumbent is crucial for the timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure outputs, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will oversee on-site work activities, review attendance sheets, and process inspection requests. They will inspect work and materials, providing technical support as needed, and coordinate daily with the contractor's project manager to ensure proper execution according to drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include preparing daily, weekly, monthly, and project closure reports, conducting safety inspections, and reviewing contractor payment applications for accuracy. The role involves preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs), site implementation plans, and material delivery plans, while assessing the quality and quantity of delivered materials. Ensuring timely project progress, adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and assessing existing structures for rehabilitation needs are key. The analyst will also develop architectural and structural drawings using engineering software, conduct market analysis for cost estimates, and engage in stakeholder consultations to authenticate land documents.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is required in construction supervision, site engineering, or field implementation, specifically including building construction, rehabilitation works, or infrastructure projects.
