National Engineer Analyst - Civil

Organizational Context

FAO's office in Yemen is tasked with developing, promoting, overseeing, and implementing strategies for national food, agriculture, and rural development priorities. The office maintains relationships with relevant ministries and aims to assist the government in achieving food security, reducing hunger and malnutrition, and promoting sustainable use of natural resources. This position is located in Aden, Yemen.

Job Purpose

The National Engineer Analyst - Civil is responsible for the design, technical review, and supervision of all civil and structural works for FAO projects. This includes building construction, rehabilitation, site development, and associated infrastructure. The role ensures that all structural designs, materials, and construction activities adhere to international engineering standards, FAO technical specifications, and safety regulations, contributing to the successful implementation of various FAO programmes in Yemen.

Responsibilities

Support field assessments to evaluate structural, architectural, and MEP conditions, identifying rehabilitation needs. Prepare detailed technical designs, drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents. Assist in preparing accurate bills of quantities, cost estimates, and implementation timelines. Contribute technical inputs and cost analysis to project proposals, budgets, and plans. Maintain project documentation and ensure technical files meet standardized requirements. Monitor site activities and compile information for progress tracking and reporting. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, and support the preparation of final project handover reports. Collaborate with the Construction Engineer Specialist to finalize and submit all technical reports.

Work Experience

Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in civil and structural engineering. This experience should include work related to building construction, rehabilitation, site development, or infrastructure projects.
