Organizational Context
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Malawi, in partnership with the Government and funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is implementing the Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Resilient Watersheds and Communities in Malawi (EbAM) project. This six-year initiative aims to bolster climate resilience in vulnerable ecosystems and communities across 11 districts. It focuses on integrated watershed management, agricultural value chains, and institutional capacity building, promoting Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) approaches to enhance sustainable production and restore over 250,000 hectares of land.
Job Purpose
The Videographer will be responsible for capturing and producing compelling visual content, including short thematic videos and photographs, from project activities in the field. This role is crucial for documenting best practices, highlighting project events, and effectively communicating the impact and progress of the EbAM project. The visual materials produced will serve to enhance the project's visibility and engagement with stakeholders, showcasing the tangible results of adaptation efforts in Malawi's watersheds and communities.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will shoot and produce thematic videos, at least two minutes in length, based on FAO briefs, ensuring all content adheres to FAO and donor branding guidelines. This involves close collaboration with the Office of Communications (OCC) and relevant communication focal points to ensure alignment with OCC standards, messaging, and clearance processes. The role requires liaising with OCC at appropriate stages for video distribution and publication, following FAO video production guidelines. Additionally, the incumbent will perform other related duties as required, ensuring all communication materials comply with FAO's strategic framework, social media policies, and branding standards, including FAOSTYLE and logo usage.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in videography is required, preferably within the United Nations or other international organizations. This experience should demonstrate a strong ability to produce high-quality video content and manage production workflows.
