Organizational Context
The Brazil-UN Fund for Sustainable Development of the Amazon approved the project UNJP/BRA/100/UNJ “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs and Family Farmers through Inclusive Bioeconomy in Rondônia”. This intervention, led by UNIDO with FAO and UN Women, aims to strengthen coffee and cocoa value chains in Rondônia. It prioritizes women entrepreneurs and family farmers, supporting a transition towards value-added goods and advanced cultivation, post-harvesting, and industrialization techniques. The project focuses on establishing bioeconomy governance, promoting women's leadership and financial autonomy, and enhancing family farmers' natural resource management capacities.
Job Purpose
The MPTF Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of FAO's activities within the "Empowering Women Entrepreneurs and Family Farmers through Inclusive Bioeconomy in Rondônia" project. This includes ensuring the timely and effective execution of the Project Document, workplans, and budget. The role involves coordinating institutional actions with partners and key actors, providing technical leadership for project tasks, and ensuring the participation of diverse stakeholders and the integration of a gender approach. The coordinator will also manage daily coordination duties and lead advocacy, capacity-building, and technical assistance efforts related to the cocoa value chain.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the timely and quality implementation of project components and activities, providing technical support and ensuring linkages among components, contracts, and actors. Develop and review Terms of Reference for personnel and Service Providers, ensuring compliance with standards. Coordinate the preparation and adjustment of annual workplans, budget revisions, procurement, and recruitment plans. Support project personnel in activity implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, workplans, and safeguards. Liaise with stakeholders, including government, institutions, beneficiaries, UN entities, and civil society, to agree on implementation arrangements. Organize and lead project meetings, workshops, and technical activities. Facilitate project field missions, supervision visits, and training sessions. Ensure coordination with UNIDO, UN Women, and other relevant projects. Monitor project implementation and assist with progress reports. Support the preparation and validation of the project terminal report.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of responsible professional experience in managing field projects within Brazil. Experience should be focused on areas such as agroforestry systems, bioeconomy, territorial development, or family farming. This experience is in addition to the advanced university degree requirement.

Technical/Functional Skills: Geographical knowledge of Rondônia and previous field experience in the state. Experience promoting bioeconomy value chains and/or working with the cocoa value chain in Brazil. Proven knowledge or experience in implementing good cocoa production practices.
