The Programme Management Unit (PMU) of the FAO-Saudi Technical Cooperation Programme (2026-2031) facilitates, coordinates, and manages technical and advisory services from FAO to the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MoEWA). The project "UTF/SAU/051/SAU Strengthening MoEWA’s Capacity to Implement the Sustainable Rural Agricultural Development Programme" is the first project under the FAO-Saudi Technical Cooperation Programme (2019-2025). It provides assistance to MoEWA in implementing its Sustainable Rural Agricultural Development programme, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
Job Purpose
The incumbent will provide strategic support for developing, overseeing, and executing high-impact communication and advocacy initiatives focused on food security, climate resilience, water, ecosystems, and sustainable agriculture. The goal is to ensure appropriate recognition of the FAO Member Country and to enhance the visibility, credibility, and policy influence of FAO’s work within Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for effectively communicating FAO's contributions and strategic objectives to key stakeholders and the public.
Responsibilities
Support the Partnerships and Outreach Expert and Programme Director on relevant workstreams, particularly showcasing FAO's efforts in transforming agrifood systems, water, and natural resources management in partnership with the Member Country and stakeholders. Develop public communication content across multiple media and formats, ensuring quality control and adherence to FAO guidelines and standards. This includes reviewing and translating stories, drafting content for various channels (newsletters, articles, social media), and contributing to multimedia assets like graphics and videos. Maintain liaison with OCC for compliance with standards, aligned messaging, and clearance processes for all communication materials, ensuring they align with FAO's Strategic Framework and policies.
Work Experience
More than 5 years of relevant experience in agriculture, livestock production, natural resources management, water, agricultural extension, and project management is required. Experience in communications and knowledge management is also necessary. For consultants with a bachelor's degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience are needed.

Excellent writing and editing abilities are essential, with the capacity to translate complex technical information into clear content.
