Job Purpose
This role supports the implementation of the Resilient Philippines Project (GCP/PHI/082/PAF) and other related projects focused on Animal Production and Health within the Philippines. The project encompasses critical areas such as One Health, Animal Health, Surveillance, Laboratory diagnostics, Epidemiology, Workforce Development, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), Risk Communication, Community Engagement, Environmental Science, Zoonotic Diseases, and Transboundary Animal Diseases. The position aims to contribute to strengthening the country's capacity in these vital fields.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the Resilient Philippines Project and other FAO ECTAD projects in the Philippines. Coordinate project activities with relevant partners and stakeholders. Assist in organizing and conducting training, workshops, and meetings, including follow-up activities in technical areas like laboratory, surveillance, epidemiology, workforce development, AMR, communications, and community engagement. Participate in relevant events, preparing reports and communications for various platforms. Support the development, implementation, data collection, and analysis of project initiatives. Assist in advocacy campaigns, awareness initiatives, and farm-level data generation using a One Health approach. Monitor project progress against work plans and logframes, tracking activities, targets, and indicators. Ensure administrative and financial matters comply with FAO guidelines. Prepare project reports, briefs, and correspondence. Participate in regional discussions and missions as requested. Perform other relevant duties within the scope of technical competence.
Work Experience
For candidates with a DVM or an advanced degree, at least three years of experience in laboratory work, surveillance, epidemiology, or community engagement is required. For non-DVM applicants without an advanced degree, a minimum of five years of experience in these areas is necessary. Experience in the Philippines is implied by the national requirement.
Skills

Essential skills involve familiarity with international organizations, project management, strategic planning, financial reporting, and excellent leadership.
