Job Purpose
The Project Field Assistant is crucial for the successful implementation of the "Rebuilding Agricultural Livelihoods affected by Multiple Cyclones in Cagayan Province" project. This role provides essential administrative, logistical, and technical support for field activities. The primary objective is to contribute to the project's goals by ensuring smooth execution of interventions aimed at restoring agricultural livelihoods impacted by recent devastating cyclones, thereby supporting the recovery and resilience of affected farming and fishing communities in Cagayan province.
Responsibilities
The Project Field Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and logistics of project activities, including training sessions, workshops, and consultations with farmers, fisherfolk, and government stakeholders. This includes facilitating and monitoring project interventions such as cash-based support and grants, maintaining regular communication with local government units and community leaders, and assisting in the preparation of training materials. The role also involves providing logistical support for monitoring and evaluation activities, maintaining a database of beneficiaries and project outcomes for reporting and knowledge management, and assisting resource speakers during training sessions. Performing other related duties as assigned is also part of the responsibilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant field experience is necessary. This experience should encompass emergency response and recovery operations, disaster risk reduction, and support initiatives in agriculture and fisheries.
Skills
Essential skills include results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing. Demonstrated experience with project logical frameworks, performance monitoring, and M&E systems is required. Statistical skills for data analysis and proficiency in MS Office are necessary. Familiarity with KoboCollect, Tableau, Power BI, and FAO operational procedures is advantageous. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Tagalog are essential, with proficiency in the Ilocano dialect being an advantage.
