Job Purpose
This internship offers a unique opportunity for talented young individuals to gain practical experience within the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Interns will be assigned to various fields of work, aligning with their academic profiles and the Organization's current needs. The program is designed to allow participants to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting, contributing to FAO's mission. Responsibilities
The intern will undertake specific functions as detailed in the Terms of Reference (TOR) provided by the hiring office. This will involve applying academic knowledge to practical tasks and contributing to the work of the assigned department. Responsibilities may include research, data analysis, report writing, and supporting ongoing projects relevant to FAO's mandate. Interns are expected to actively participate in team activities, share insights, and contribute to achieving project objectives. They will work under the guidance of a supervisor, who will provide direction and feedback throughout the internship. The role requires adherence to FAO's core competencies, including results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing, ensuring a productive and enriching experience.
Work Experience
No specific prior work experience is mandated. However, candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or be a recent graduate from an accredited institution. The internship is designed to provide practical experience, supplementing academic studies. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to adapt to an international, multicultural environment and possess good communication skills.
