Job Purpose
This volunteer role is designed to support FAO's mission by assigning the individual to a field directly relevant to the organization's ongoing work and objectives. Responsibilities
The volunteer will be responsible for executing tasks as detailed in the specific Terms of Reference (TOR) provided by the hiring office. This will involve undertaking assigned duties that align with the objectives of the project or department. Responsibilities may include supporting research, data collection, analysis, report writing, and assisting with the implementation of program activities. The volunteer is expected to contribute actively to team efforts, adhere to project timelines, and maintain high standards of work. Specific duties will be tailored to the needs of the office and the volunteer's capabilities, ensuring a valuable contribution to FAO's operational goals and the achievement of its mandate in various fields of agriculture and food security.
Work Experience
While specific work experience is not a mandatory minimum requirement beyond secondary education, candidates are encouraged to highlight any relevant working or research experience in fields related to FAO's mandate. This experience, coupled with a working knowledge of at least one FAO language and strong communication skills, will be considered advantageous. The ability to adapt to a diverse, international setting is also a key consideration for potential volunteers.
