Organizational Context

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is dedicated to defeating hunger and achieving food security globally. Operating in over 130 countries with more than 195 Members, FAO strives to ensure regular access to sufficient, high-quality food for all to lead active, healthy lives. The FAO Regular Volunteer Programme offers individuals a chance to contribute volunteer actions towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework, aiming for more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agri-food systems.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this volunteer role is to contribute to FAO's mission by undertaking assignments within a field relevant to the organization's work. Volunteers will be integrated into specific projects or initiatives, providing support and gaining practical experience. Responsibilities

Work Experience

While specific work experience is not a mandatory minimum requirement beyond secondary education, candidates are encouraged to highlight any relevant working or research experience in fields related to the Organization's mandate. The ability to adapt to an international, multicultural environment and strong communication skills are considered important attributes for successful integration and contribution within FAO.
