Organizational Context

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. The organization focuses on areas like digital transformation, AI, green industry, and MSME competitiveness, utilizing technical cooperation, research, normative functions, and partnership building. The Division of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (TCS/DAI) specifically supports Member States in adopting digital technologies and AI to enhance industrial competitiveness and resilience.

Job Purpose

To support the Division of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (TCS/DAI) in promoting digital transformation and AI for industrial development, working under the guidance of the Chief of the Division.

Responsibilities

Develop and formulate technical cooperation projects in digital transformation and AI. Implement projects, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and deliverables. Manage project inputs, coordinate with stakeholders, and monitor progress. Mobilize resources and build partnerships for AI and digital technology initiatives. Contribute to UNIDO's global forum activities by preparing technical papers and publications. Stay updated on technical and economic developments in the field. Contribute to Results-Based Management.

Work Experience

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5 years with a Master's, or 3 years with a Doctorate. Experience should include technical cooperation in developing countries, project cycle management, results-based management, and demonstrated experience in innovation, research, and development focusing on AI and digital transformation. Experience evaluating needs in developing countries is desirable.
