Organizational Context

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Job Purpose

To provide technical assistance to PAHO/Mexico in implementing the communicable diseases component of the Multiservices Project, focusing on the health needs of the migrant population in Mexico.

Responsibilities

Implement and strengthen the comprehensive approach to communicable diseases within the Multiservices Project. Provide specialized technical support for project activities, coordinating with PAHO's Communicable Diseases area and health authorities. Review existing information, regulations, and guidelines to ensure technical and operational relevance. Develop, systematize, and review technical, methodological, and operational documents related to communicable diseases in mobile populations. Support the design and development of strategies and tools for capacity building. Accompany the implementation of planned actions, monitor progress, identify critical issues, and formulate recommendations. Design the operational strategy through a roadmap/guide. Design models with cases describing the natural history of communicable diseases to activate care network codes. Develop educational materials for mobile populations on communicable disease prevention. Prepare and submit project deliverables and reports.

Work Experience

Essential: At least 5 years of experience in assistance and/or epidemiological surveillance in the health sector or NGOs, working with mobile populations in national or international contexts. Desirable: Applied research on internal or external migration issues, and/or design and implementation of public health policies. Experience in multisectoral coordination and project management.
